Commenting on the announcement, Haywood states:

“I am honoured to take on this role at a critical time for the advanced biofuels sector. Now, more than ever, we need to accelerate the ambition to scale advanced biofuel production, drive investor confidence and reduce emissions in hard-to-abate sectors.

“There is a huge amount of potential with advanced biofuels that can be unlocked by the EU, especially in reaching the 2040 targets, and I look forward to working alongside the coalition members in getting the necessary and fair support for our sector in place.”

Haywood, who has a decade of experience in navigating complex policy on behalf of industries at a national and EU level, succeeds Erich Cuaz of Clariant who served as Chair and who will remain on the board of the Advanced Biofuels Coalition.
